Episode 1: The Ironclad Offers Framework — The 10 Levers That'll Fix a Broken Offer

Transcript
[00:00] If you keep trying to solve a marketing problem with more activity, stop.
[00:04] More traffic will not fix an offer people don't understand.
[00:08] Better content will not fix an offer buyers do not believe will work for them, and a prettier sales page will not fix an offer that asks too much while promising too little.
[00:17] Most of the time, the issue is not your channels.
[00:20] It's the offer underneath the channels.
[00:22] And today, I'm gonna show you the ten levers I use to diagnose that problem.
[00:27] Let's get it.
[00:28] Let's go.
[00:29] I don't know what comes next, but I couldn't care less.
[00:33] I refuse to feel stressed.
[00:35] There's no fear in my chest.
[00:37] Hit or pull for my steps.
[00:40] Walk away from the pain I've been through.
[00:42] This feeling of winning is brand new.
[00:44] This is the moment I break through.
[00:46] Welcome to Ten Minute Masterclass, your weekly mic drop on business growth.
[00:52] I'm your host and lead MC, Trey Sheneman, and each week on Ten Minute Masterclass, we turn timeless business lessons into today's timely insights.
[01:02] And in season one, we spent that entire season looking at the core four drivers of business growth: marketing, sales, operations, and people leadership.
[01:10] This season, we're going deeper into that marketing bucket.
[01:14] We're looking at four levers that determine whether good work gets noticed and bought.
[01:19] Lever number one, your offer.
[01:21] Lever number two, your market.
[01:23] Lever number three, your avatar, and lever number four, your flywheel.
[01:26] Now, we're starting by going deep with the offer section of the business because it affects everything else that comes after it.
[01:34] Here's the thing.
[01:35] After all these years, nearly seventeen, yeah, seventeen years now of building marketing and sales systems for founder-led businesses, public figures, education brands,
[01:45] and many more, I've learned that a good offer does not make every other part of the business easy.
[01:50] When the offer is clear, your ads are gonna have a better message to carry.
[01:53] Your landing page has a clearer job to do.
[01:56] Your sales team is gonna have a stronger conversation, and your customer has a better understanding of what they're actually buying.
[02:02] But when the offer is weak, people try to solve the problem with surface-level tactics.
[02:06] They buy more traffic.
[02:08] They change headlines every two weeks.
[02:10] They add another bonus.
[02:11] Worse, they lower their price.
[02:13] But they never step back and ask the more important question.
[02:17] Is this offer built around something people actually want, believe, and can say yes to?
[02:24] I want you to think back to Hyundai in the late nineteen nineties.
[02:27] The company had a perception problem.
[02:28] People didn't just question the cars.
[02:30] They questioned whether the cars would last.
[02:32] Hyundai could have spent all its money making prettier commercials, but instead it strengthened the offer with a warranty people could understand, ten years or a hundred thousand miles on the
[02:42] powertrain.
[02:43] Now, that did not change every part of the business overnight, but it gave the buyer a new reason to believe.
[02:48] Same category, a clearer promise, less perceived risk.
[02:52] That is what an offer can do when it is built on the right levers.
[02:57] Today's episode, I wanna teach you something that I've learned over the years called the Ironclad Offers Framework.
[03:02] Now, this isn't a formula for making promises that you can't keep.
[03:06] I'm not in that business, and I don't want you to be in that business either.
[03:08] This is a diagnostic tool that helps you see where a buyer is losing clarity, momentum before they've ever even reached the checkout page.
[03:15] So here are the ten levers that make up this framework.
[03:19] Dream outcome.
[03:20] What meaningful result can you actually create for the customer?
[03:23] Not the course, not the consult, not the features, not the software, the result on the other side of those things.
[03:31] Lever two, your unique mechanism.
[03:33] Why should they, the customer, believe your way of getting there is different from the alternatives they've already tried?
[03:39] This is your method, your process, your point of view.
[03:42] Lever three, your value stack.
[03:45] What's included, and can the buyer see why those pieces belong together?
[03:49] This isn't about making up fictitious value.
[03:52] It's about making the full scope of everything that you give them visible.
[03:55] Lever four, perceived level of success.
[03:58] Can the buyer see someone like them succeeding?
[04:01] Can they see the path clearly enough to believe that maybe they could follow it and win too?
[04:05] Lever five, time delay.
[04:08] How long does it feel like they will wait before they experience useful progress?
[04:11] A full transformation may take some time, but the first win shouldn't feel that far away.
[04:17] Lever six, effort and sacrifice.
[04:20] What does the buyer think this is gonna cost them in time, attention, skill, and energy?
[04:24] If the work feels vague or overwhelming, they will often delay the decision to even start.
[04:30] Lever seven, price framing.
[04:32] Price isn't just a number, it's a story about trade-offs.
[04:35] Lever eight, risk reversal.
[04:38] What happens if this is not the right fit?
[04:40] A credible guarantee or clear policy tells the buyer how much risk you're willing to share in.
[04:45] Lever nine, scarcity and urgency.
[04:47] Real capacity constraints and real deadlines help people make decisions.
[04:52] Artificial ones damage trust.
[04:54] And lever 10, social proof.
[04:56] What evidence shows that the offer has helped people like them?
[04:59] And after they see that evidence, is the next step obvious?
[05:02] Those are the 10 levers.
[05:04] If you're a busy founder and your revenue has stalled at all, and you're wondering, "What in the world do I need to do about it?" I want you to listen up.
[05:12] I have spent the last 17 years codifying the exact processes that I've used with people like Dave Ramsey and Brendon Burchard and Darren Hardy
[05:22] and many other world-class leaders to help them unlock predictable growth in their business through a process I call the Compass Method.
[05:29] Now, for the first time ever, I've taken everything that's inside the Compass Method, and I've made it available in a done-for-you software called Compass Method Operating System, and
[05:39] it is out now.
[05:41] So if you're stuck, if your team's stuck, if it-- every time you guys get into a meeting, it's just a bunch of ideas and nobody really knows the reason why your growth has stalled, I want to give
[05:51] you an opportunity to get a special price as a thank you for being a listener to 10 Minute Masterclass on using CMOS, Compass Method Operating System, to help unlock the growth in your business.
[06:01] So if you'll click the link in our show notes, you can go to compassmethodos.com, put in code 10MINUTEMC, that's one zero M-I-N-M-C, and you can save $500
[06:12] on your Compass Method diagnostic services.
[06:15] Thanks so much for being a listener.
[06:16] It's gonna change your life.
[06:18] Now, not every business has a problem in all 10 places.
[06:23] Usually, one or two are carrying most of the weight.
[06:26] That is why diagnosis comes before tactics.
[06:30] Now listen, this is why this season matters.
[06:33] Over the next 11 episodes, we're gonna take each lever, each one of those ones that I just went through, apart.
[06:39] You're gonna learn how to clarify your outcomes so that you drive the results your customer wants, how to show value without relying on some inflated set of bonuses, how to make the path feel believable,
[06:49] doable, and worth it, how to identify the things that should not be in your offer at all, because an offer is not just your pricing page.
[06:56] It's the agreement between what you promise and what the customer trusts you to deliver.
[07:02] So if you take nothing else from this episode, remember this.
[07:06] Before you ask for more traffic, more leads, or more sales call, make sure the offer is carrying its share of the work.
[07:13] A stronger offer gives every part of your marketing something worth amplifying.
[07:17] If you want the workbook that goes with this season, I'm gonna let you head over to 10MINUTEMC.com and grab it.
[07:23] Now, next time we're together, we're gonna drive deeper down into our first lever, which is gonna be called dream outcome.
[07:29] In the meantime, I want you to do some homework.
[07:32] I want you to go on your website right now, and I want you to write down everything you think is wrong with your offer today based on those steps that I just recapped.
[07:41] Now, it might be that you think nothing is wrong with your offer today, but I want you to take a hard look at those questions that I proposed while I was looking through that content with you just a minute ago
[07:51] and see if anything sticks out to you as something that could potentially be off with your offer.
[07:55] So that as we move through the rest of this first series within season two of 10 Minute Masterclass, you're able to see where you started and where you land.
[08:04] Now, another good practice would be to take a screenshot or a PDF of your current most trafficked sales page on your website, or if you're using physical brochures
[08:15] or presentations or slideshows, just get the most recent visual of how you explain that when someone is looking at it, whether, again, it's on a screen, online, on your phone, or in
[08:25] a printout.
[08:25] Because there's gonna be times where I'm gonna actually have my team cut some visuals into this footage so that you can follow along with what I'm thinking.
[08:33] Either way, this is gonna be a very practical season where I'm going to be teaching you exactly what I would do if I were you in your business around these levers.
[08:41] I expect you to get a lot out of it.
[08:43] And with that being said, I am so excited to be back with you again, and I'm ready to make season two awesome.
[08:49] Thank you so much for joining us again in this season of 10 Minute Masterclass.
[08:53] And until next time, we'll see you on the flip side.
